Following the Prime Minister's advice on Monday evening, it is with a heavy heart that we have decided to temporarily suspend all meetings at church until further notice. This is advice given in the best interests of public health and the welfare of our church community.
This will be with immediate effect (There will therefore be NO prayer meeting this evening - 17/03/2020).
In order to continue our shared worship life, we are proposing the following:
We currently have two gatherings on a Sunday, 10am and 5pm. Neither will be meeting until further notice. However on Sunday mornings, those on our mailing list will receive an email with a link to both a video and audio service. These will also be available on our website. This will help us continue in our Sunday worship. The video will consist of some bible readings, prayers, kids talk and a sermon. We hope this will help you to continue to follow our morning sermon series in Matthew's gospel, and to stay in touch with the together prayer life of our local church. If you don't have access to a device that can play these files, or would like help with this please be in touch. As part of the email there will also be a help sheet for some activities you can do with children to follow up on the kids talk. (Please email the church office (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you do not currently receive emails from the church but would like to be added to our mailing list).
Until further notice, we will not be running our mid-week Grow Groups or Central Prayer Meeting. However, we will send around an email on Tuesday mornings with a link to an audio talk. This talk will continue our 5pm sermon series in Mark's Gospel, and will have a few follow up questions for reflection, and then share some things to pray about at home. Why not set aside Tuesday evening to listen and to pray?
Grow Group leaders will be given advice on how they can continue to connect with you so that we continue to care and pray for each other.
This will include Tots by the Park, Bright Sparks, Rock Solid, and Rooted. We will be making contact with parents and carers of children who attend these groups. If you want to keep your kids active in Bible teaching and activities, then we have some great resources you can purchase from church. Please make contact with the church office for some options.
This includes Together, Monday Meet, Emmanuel Society, Day Time Prayer Meeting, and Knit & Natter.
We are keen to keep the praying life of church going. If there are things you would like the church to pray about, then please email email@example.com. We will endeavour to keep sending out a weekly prayer sheet so we can stay up to date in our prayers for one another and our mission partners.
At this difficult time we are aware that many will need spiritual comfort and support as well as practical help. Please make contact with your small group leader, with one of the elders, or make contact with the church office if you need some help. You could also email the welfare team directly firstname.lastname@example.org. Please let us know if you are unwell or self-isolating so that we can support you as best we can.
We would also encourage you to care for one another. Especially be attentive to those who don't have email and won't be getting our updates. If you are able to offer some more practical help please do let us know.
We are sure that the government will change advice a number of times over the coming weeks. We will seek to keep you updated with regular emails about anything that changes at church. This website will also have updated information.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says ...
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
With my love and prayers
Nathan (on behalf of the elders)
