Words of Goodwill and Assuranc

Commencing 5th November 2023 at our 5PM Services

The book of Esther contains “words of goodwill and assurance” that God’s exiled people need to hear to encourage them to trust in God when there seems to be an absence of God.
In the New Testament, followers of Jesus are referred to as exiles. Like Esther and Mordecai, we live away from our true home. We too can be faced with the schemes of the enemy to put an end to the church. We too need to be reminded of how God works behind the scenes to protect and flourish his people.
The truths we see played out in the book of Esther shine brightest in the gospel of Jesus. Here we see how God turns the table on our great enemy Satan to win a great relief for his people. The risen Jesus now works for the good of his people in the highest courtroom of heaven where he speaks up for the welfare of all those who trust in him. These truly are words of goodwill and assurance as we live out our time here in exile.
